Viewed over any reasonable timeframe, vintage Rolex watches are very strong performers, and have the added advantage of being practically useable for as long as you own them. In addition they have a sound record of increasing in value over time. Even though the Air-King is an ‘entry level’ watch in vintage Rolex owning and collecting terms, its future performance potential is generally acknowledged. The original Air-King watch was produced in tribute to the Battle of Britain aviators for whom Rolex was the watch of choice. (Whenever in a war film you hear “Righto chaps, synchronise your watches...” you just somehow know they are old Rolexes!) The Air-King range is classic, timeless, and elegant, with the Rolex brand’s signature ‘attention to detail’. A true ‘design classic’.
