Simply one of the best 168000 'Transitional' Submariners I have ever seen and includes original inner and outer boxes, all booklets, tags, calendar, original translation papers, Rolex anchor and punched Rolex Guarantee certificate. Circa 1984.

Vintage Rolex Submariners are not only popular, they are also attractive investments. They pay historical witness to the evolution of Rolex itself. All Rolex Submariners are special watches and this very rare (made for only 6 months) 168000 (extra zero) 'Transitional' Submariner is very special and much sought-after.

The so-called 'Transitional' 16800 was introduced for a very short period, transcending the changes between the 1680 and the modern 16610. The 16800 introduced the caliber 3135 movement which featured the quick-set date and a sapphire crystal and was now uprated from 660 feet to 1000 feet. Toward the end of the production run of the 16800s, for a very short period, Rolex produced the reference 168000 in which the quality of the stainless steel was upgraded from grade 316 to grade 904.
 

This complete 168000 Rolex Submariner is simply stunning. The dial is perfect and the case, crystal and bracelet are beautifully sharp. You will struggle to find a cheaper 168000 (complete) and I guarantee you won't find one as lovely as this. It has obviously been cherished and looked after very well. Simply stunning.
