This rare 'Metres First' Matte dial 5513 Submariner was first sold in 1968 in the UK and is in stunning condition. Complete with original box, tags and all important Rolex Guarantee booklet.

The mighty Rolex Submariner was introduced at the 1954 Basel Fair. The Submariner was the first truly water resistant watch. Submariners instantly became the de facto diver's watch. Not surprisingly, the 1955 Basel Fair saw Submariner clones from leading brands, a trend which has not abated after some 50 odd years! - the Submariner is the most copied watch extant (not to mention outright fakes). The Submariner has evolved over the years, with many interim model reference numbers, dial variations, and other aspects which make collecting Submariners fun and interesting. Today, vintage Rolex Submariners are not only popular, they are also attractive investments. This 5513 Submariner is in excellent condition. The rare 'Meters First' dial has perfect faded patina and the case and bracelet are in superb shape despite its years. You may find cheaper 5513s on Ebay (yeah, good luck with that) but I guarantee you won't find one as lovely and as rare as this. Complete with original stamped Rolex Guarantee booklet.
